Clinical Practice in Athletic Training: A Journal of Practice-based, Outcomes, and Action Research invites manuscripts for a special issue curated by authors who are black, indigenous, and persons of color (BIPOC). The mission of the issue is to elevate the voices of athletic trainers who represent minoritized populations through their roles as healthcare providers and clinical scholars.

We encourage submissions of all manuscript styles. Submissions will be included in the issue when the first author represents the BIPOC community. We will also consider submissions that focus specifically on diminishing health and healthcare disparities of underserved, marginalized, or minoritized patient populations. To elevate the voices of our BIPOC first authors, we ask that all accepted submission be willing to collaborate on innovative dissemination mechanisms to accompany the manuscript (e.g. video abstracts, podcasts, infographics).

Any interested authors new to the publication and dissemination process should reach out to the Editor-in-Chief Lindsey Eberman or Managing Editor Matthew Rivera for support.

To have your manuscript considered for the issue, please indicate in your Title Page that your paper is for this Special Issue and submit by October 1, 2020.
